Tropical Pro™ Professional Grade Clad Clips are the gold standard for attaching Tropical Pro™ and Thermotech wood rain screen, cladding, paneling, and soffit clad clip profiles. The Clad Clip system facilitates back ventilation and rapid moisture evaporation. In soffit applications, air flow occurs between every board eliminating the need for soffit vents. When combined with wood rain screen, cladding, paneling, and soffit products, clad clips eliminate the use of penetrating nails or screws which create moisture penetration points greatly increasing the service life of wood cladding. The Clad Clip Maxi system is designed for high wind.
Durable and Code-Compliant
Tropical Pro™’ Clad Clips are designed to create a 3/8″ (10 mm) offset between the wood sheathing and cladding to prevent water bridging and meet international building code standards. Manufactured from V-O rated, glass filled nylon that is resistant to moisture, heat, fire, and impact, these clad clips are incredibly strong and can be used on all building envelope and substrate types.
The nylon design also eliminates any potential for a galvanic reaction between the clip and substrate or deterioration associated with salt spray. When paired with Tropical Pro™ screws, service life in any location is increased dramatically.
For attachment to wood sheathing, use Tropical Pro™ #10×1.5″ (38 mm) 316 Stainless Steel Flat Head Screws. One screw per Maxi Clip (low wind) and two screws per Maxi Clip (high wind).
