Tropical Pro™ Professional Grade Deck Screw #8×2-1/2″ (63.5 mm) T20 Torx Drive Head 316 Stainless should be used when face screwing Tropical Pro™ 1″ (25.4 mm) or 5/4″ (18.1 mm) decking to treated stringers and when intending wood to weather to a silver-grey patina or with Tropical Pro Plugs and Tropical Pro Plug Tool Kit. Hardwood decking should always be predrilled and countersink when face fastening.

Type 316 stainless steel is a nickel-chromium austenitic grade of stainless steel with 2-3% Molybdenum. Type 316 stainless steel is not hardened by heat treatment and is inherently nonmagnetic. It provides a level of corrosion protection suitable for severe environments, especially environments with chlorides. Type 316 stainless steel fasteners are compliant with the 2015 and 2018 International Building Codes and International Residential Codes.
