Tropical Pro™ Professional Grade Deck Screw Kit #8×2-1/2″ (63.5 mm) should be used when face screwing 1x (net .75” / 19 mm thickness) or 5/4x (net 1” / 25 mm thickness) hardwood decking to treated wood stringers. Hardwood decking should always be predrilled and countersink when face fastening. Set countersink bit to drill through decking only, not into stringers. Screws will self drill into treated stringers. When intending to maintain the natural wood colors with Tropical Pro™ Decking & Cladding Oil, the brown head blends nicely with virtually any wood species.

It provides a level of corrosion protection suitable for severe environments, especially environments with chlorides and salt spray. Type 316 stainless steel fasteners are compliant with IBC and IRC construction codes.
