Tropical Pro™ Professional Grade Deck Screw Kit #8×2-1/2″ (63.5 mm) T20 Torx Drive 316 Stainless should be used when face screwing 1x (net .75” / 19 mm thickness) or 5/4x (net 1” / 25 mm thickness) hardwood decking to treated wood stringers. Hardwood decking should always be predrilled and countersink when face fastening. Set countersink bit to drill through decking only, not into stringers. Screws will self drill into treated stringers. When intending to allow wood to weather naturally to a silver grey patina, the natural stainless steel head will blend nicely with virtually any wood species.
