Its Super Stick Technology™ adhesive can stick to damp wood joists, doesn’t require a primer, and can be applied down to -20°F (-28.8°C) as well as high-temperature applications.

USES

Tropical Pro™ Deck Joist Tape can be used as a flashing tape on ledger boards and joists to help sustain the life of deck framing by preventing moisture penetration around properly installed fasteners.

LIMITATIONS

Not recommended for application over uncured (wet) sealants or adhesives, even if compatible. Not recommended for use over or in contact with single ply ROOFING MEMBRANES such as TPO or PVC. Not recommended for use with flexible vinyl deck or roof deck membranes. Not recommend for use over granulated surfaces. Not recommended for use on substrates with standing water or visibly wet surfaces, dirty surfaces, frozen surfaces, or surfaces contaminated with foreign substances such as grease, oil, or solvents.

SHELF LIFE

Tropical Pro™ Deck Joist Tape maintains optimum initial adhesion to substrates when used within one year of the date of manufacture.

CLEAN UP

Dispose of waste in accordance with local requirements. Control the work site so that boxes and the release liner do not present a hazard. Packaging materials and release liner can be recycled.

STORAGE

Tropical Pro™ Deck Joist Tape should be stored in the original, unopened container at ambient temperatures between 40°F and 90°F (5°C and 32°C). The storage area should remain dry and out of direct sunlight. Do not remove the materials from their original containers until you are ready to use them. Do not double stack.

PREPARATION & APPLICATION

All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of any foreign materials. The surface must be free of gaps, sharp edges, and protrusions. Metal surfaces may need to be wiped with solvent and/or abraded to achieve optimum adhesion.

Note: Tropical Pro™ recommends testing substrates for adhesion prior to full application. See technical adhesion to substrates information.

Note: installation over damp surfaces may result in the formation of bubbles/air pockets under the Tropical Pro™ Deck Joist Tape due to moisture. The use of a roller will help to remove the bubbles and air pockets.
